HI FI '99 IN CHICAGO

Welcome to our show report, as usual highlighting all rooms JPS'd. This year we decided to create the best possible room at the show by combining the best talents in the USA, and so also forgoed the task of supplying cables to the masses. Therefore, only one room exists which is JPS'd with our flagship Superconductor 2 cables, and it is absolutely one of the best systems available AT ANY PRICE, no ifs, ands, or Butts... This years show was at the fabulous Palmer House Hilton, right in the heart of Downtown Chicago. A really nice hotel, with some really expensive coffee if room service is your bag... Of course as usual showee's, we needed our caffeine badly, and so ordered the gallon size every morning...

Well, its on to the show. Sorry we could not be more spread out this time on our JPS'd coverage of the show, but this we will leave to the media, and there is sooo much we need to tell you about our room...

The room contained the likes of the best artists in High-end audio. Orchestrated by Bobby at Merlin, and combined with some of the best show conditions for a hotel. We couldn't kick people out of the room while the music was playing...

To save wear and tear on my two typing fingers, at the bottom of this report is a list of most of all in our system.

The Speakers were finished in a gorgeous Ruby Heart Red, and by looking at the system you would think the same finish was applied on the rest of the gear. Talk about a match made in heaven. One thing's for sure, the sound in this room could only be described as one thing, so REAL... Instruments, voices, drums, EVERYTHING... It all sounded as if they were produced by people playing in the room. Passing visitors were doing a double take and drawn into the room by the realism of sound in the hall. It was that good!!!

Lloyd Walker was spinning vinyl all day for 5 days straight, so we all must bow our heads to the master DJ, 5 days running. Imagine the total grove length that cartridge played through; bet it would be long enough to string it all the way back home:):)...

The room had synergy in its appearance and colors, the sound, and the people. We actually had Bobby (Mr. Merlin) saying, and I quote: "This is the best sound I've had at any show". Now that's not an easy thing to get him to say, and we weren't even tickling him... We consistently had a full room of people who sat down to enjoy the beautiful music. This system sounded so good that it even shocked ALL of us!!!

All in all, and excellent showing of what High-end audio is all about; the life-like recreation of the original event right in your own home. If you are at all in the market for one of the best possible system combinations on the planet, this one would be it!!!
